Placement Requests

If you are in need of surrendering your dog or animal to us, please complete this form with as much detail as you can. The more details we have the more we will be able to determine if your animal is a good fit for ODGTH. Once we receive this we will contact you directly to go over the surrender process and answer any questions you may have. Please note - our policy is that unfortunately once your dog is surrendered you will not receive personal updates or ashes returned once they have passed.

Surrendering a pet is not easy, and we completely understand the high emotional toll it may take as well as the guilt you may feel. While we do understand the difficulty in this, our no contact policy after surrendering your animal is both for our own mental health, and the animals wellbeing also.

Therefore, we recommend considering using this checklist BEFORE surrendering your animal to ensure you have all the closure you feel you need prior to us taking your animal.

  • Contact friends and family and anyone who may want to say goodbye to your animal before they are surrendered.

  • Take pictures, make videos, or a memorial beforehand.

  • Noseprints or paw prints can be great memories to hold on to, you can make these easily with kits and display them.

  • Do one last adventure or fun thing together - the beach, a park, even a walk.

  • Save any memorable pieces of equipment or supplies (collar with tags, bowl etc) that you may want to hold on to for memories later.

We do NOT require a donation or charge a fee for surrendering an animal to us. We also do not require any supplies come with them.  Vet records can be emailed to us directly or we can contact your vet after surrender, and we are also fully aware that some dogs may have very old records or none at all. We are fine with this and are just happy to help.

ODGTH is a private residence. We are not open to the public. VISITS BY APPOINTMENT ONLY.
