Dogs in our care

Below are the current residents of Old Dogs Go To Helen. Old Dogs pay for all the medical and comfort care these dogs need until they pass on. While they are with us they undergo any treatments, diagnosis work, surgeries, and more to meet their needs. Not to mention a never ending supply of chicken nuggets!

PLEASE NOTE - WE DO NOT ADOPT ANY OF OUR ANIMALS OUT. We are a sanctuary and they are here to live out their days in peace and happiness. We highly support adopting senior dogs from your local animal shelter or check out https://www.savingseniordogsusa.org

Donate to their care

Breezewood is a 5 year old St. at a whopping 220lbs of pure love.

This happy go lucky guy brings so much joy to the old dogs space. He love everyone!

Fig Newton!

Fig was surrendered to us when his humans realized his issues were beyond their scope of abilities and attention and couldn’t find anyone to help.

He is 4 months old and sweet as can be. Fig will be seen by specialists ASAP

Henry arrived  after his owner passed away and he didn’t have a place to go. He is a 14 years old gentleman, who  loves EVERYTHING and everyone.

Kat is a happy go lucky girl with a bounce  in her step, and a talkative gal. She love car rides and you may have seen her at some of our events.

Prometheus was found as a stray. He was barely able to keep his hind end up and had such severe entropy in his eyes he could barely see. He is between 3-6 years old, he has very warped rear legs and he can’t do stairs, but we’re going to give him everything he needs to enjoy every moment.

Rye - very old chi with collapsed trachea, she is one of the happiest little chi's you will meet.

Toby and Sophie,

Toby is a digger and Sophie is a snuggler and they are settling in just great!

Thank you Together Dog Rescue (who also brought us Lily) for getting them to us and letting us spoil them.

Gunner the 9 year old Yorkipoo is a spunky boy who loves to snuggle. She loves his new Old Dog family and we love that he is here.

Margi is tiny but mighty, full of sass but incredibly sweet, likes to play but then wants to hide.  She is a 10 year old Chihuahua with some behavior needs and we are more than happy to help her be her best self here at ODGTH. She’s settling in beautifully.

Nora is 9, and recently lost her amazing mom, one of her last wishes was to make sure Nora was well cared for and loved. We of course, said yes. Her mom passed shortly afterwards and Nora was by her side until the end.

Nora was born with two normal back legs but deformed front legs. She has one front leg that is about 3/4 the way developed and she can hop on briefly but she spends most of her time

Thelma is blind but she gets around the old dog space just fine with the help of some of the other oldies. She maybe blind but she sure knows where a comfy lap is to snuggle up on.
